Kakbhushundi Enjoys the Child Play of Lord Rama In Ayodhya

I stayed a little longer at Ayodhyå and saw the delightful child play of Lord Rama. By Lord Rama's grace I got the boon of bhakti or religious devotion.

Kakbhusundi Returns to His Hermitage

Thereafter praying to the Lord's feet, I returned to my hermitage. Ever since the Lord made me His own, Maya or delusion never afflicted me. In detail, I have told you the secrets of the dance Lord Hari's Maya made me dance according to her tune.

Pakshiraja Garuda, the Mount of Lord Hari

O Pakshiraja Garuda! Now I will tell you of my own realization: Unless we do bhajana (worship) of Hari our troubles will not come to an end. Listen, O Pakshiraja! Without Lord Rama's grace it is not possible to know His greatness. Without knowing of His greatness one can not have implicit faith; and without faith there can be no love. And devoid of love, devotion does not become steadfast just as the sliperriness produced by water.

Sortha:

binu gura hoi ki gyåna gyåna ki hoi biråga binu |

gåvahi beda puråna sukha ki lahia haribhagati binu ||89(A)||

kou bisråma ki påva tåta sahaja samtosa binu |

calai ki jala binu nåva koti jatana paci paci maria ||89(B)||

The Boat of Our Life Can't Move Without Lord Rama

Is spiritual enlightenment possible without a guru or preceptor? And is it possible to acquire spiritual wisdom (understanding of the identity of the self with the ultimate Brahman ) without asceticism ? In the same way state the Vedas and Puranas , can one find happiness without the bhakti of Lord Hari? O dear Garuda! Can one find peace without innate contentment? Can a boat ever move without water even if one uses crores of means and strains every nerve till the very end?

Chaupai:

A Tree is Rooted in Soil

Without contentment desire does not end and as long as desire remains, you can never even dream of being happy. And desire can not be got rid of without the bhajana or worship of Lord Råma? Can a tree ever be rooted without soil? Can one be even-minded without spiritual enlightenment? Can anyone get emptiness without space? There can be no adoption of religious sanctions without reverential belief. Can anyone get odour without the essence of earth.

Dhruva Experiences The Pleasure of Being One with the Supreme Soul

Can one's glory spread without austere penance? Can there be any taste to relish in this world without water ? O Gosain! Can virtue be acquired without attending to the needs of the wise just as one can not get a beautiful form and colour without lustre( the element of fire.) Can the mind be at peace without experiencing aatamanand (the pleasure of being one with the supreme soul) inherent in one's own self ? Can there be any sensation of touch without the element of air? Can there be any siddhi or accomplishment without faith?

The Fear of Birth & Death

In exactly the same manner, the fear of birth and death can not be dispelled without the worship of Lord Hari.

Doha:

binu bisvåsa bhagati nahi tehi binu dravahi na råmu |

råma krpå binu sapanehu° jiva na laha bisråmu ||90(A)||

Sortha:

asa bicåri matidhira taji kutarka samsaya sakala |

bhajahu råma raghubira karunåkara sumdara sukhada ||90(B)||

Lord is Moved by the Devotion of Guha, the Chief of the Nishadas

Without faith there can be no bhakti or religious devotion and Lord Råma does not melt (is not moved) except by devotion. And without Lord Rama's grace, the individual soul can never attain peace even in a dream. O resolute Garuda! Thinking in this fashion, abandon all wrong reasonings and suspicions, and worship the beautiful Lord Raghuvir who is a mine of compassion and grants joy to all.
