The Tiruvangad Rama Temple in Kerala

O Raghubeer ! Will you have mercy and look at me, as well, at some point of time? O treasury of compassion ! ' I am certainly your dedicated devotee whatever I may be good or bad'. Grasping this fact in will you put an end to my endless vices? (Annihilating all my sins by your kindness, will you make me your own?) ||1||

Focus Your Mind on Shri Ram's Lotus Feet

(Before the present period) this mind has been triumphing over me in every birth (defeated by him I have been entangled in worldly enjoyments. Will you make me conquer him, this time round?) (Will my mindset come under control and be solely focused on your feet?) (In that case) I will certainly be having a master but even you will be acclaimed as Lord of the destitutes, if your are not scared of my pettiness. (Not paying any attention to my worthlessness if you take me under your refuge, the glory of your of being a master of the orphaned, will also become meaningful.) ||2||

Shri Ram is Goswami Tulsidas' Greatest Well-Wisher

I am making this humble request to you because I am afraid of my own self. You are my greatest benefactor. (But Nath!) For unburdening his grief, who else should this Tulsidas go to ? Because only you are everything to me, my master, guru, mother, father and so on.

Dedicated Love for Shri Ram is One's Eternal Wealth

Shri Ram ji! Your very Name stands for my parents, kith and kin, lover, guru, svami or master, friends and selfless well-wishers. And the dedicated love which I have for your Name is my permanent wealth ||1||

Lord Shiva Extracts Ram Naam from The Ocean of Milk

Lord Shiva has churned the unfathomable Ocean of Milk having 100 crore virtuous traits and extracted the ghee of Raam Naam. The power and implicit faith of your Name is the highest fruition out of all the four fruits of arth(wealth), dharma (religious), kaam (desires) and moksha (salvation.)

The Yagya of Shri Ram Naam

Discarding deceit one should do *smarana of Shri Ram's Name. This is the only *yagya of paramount significance ||2||

Shri Ram & Janaki ji

Your Name subdues all the selfish pleasures of this material world and grants the highest truth (moksha or liberation from the cycle of birth and death). There is nothing else equivalent to Shri Ram Naam, which can bring about our good. This fact has been instinctively proclaimed by Tulsi therefore it is truly going to be correct hereupon. The Name of *JanakiRaman, Shri Ram is the very essence of our soul.

smarana: a concentrated internal practice of remembering God

yagya: In Hinduism, yagya is a ritual of sacrifice derived from the practice of Vedic times and performed to please the gods. An essential element is the sacrificial fire into which oblations are poured, as everything that is offered into the fire is believed to reach the gods. In the 'Bhagvad Gita' the Lord has ascertained that the yagya of japa or the chanting of His name is His own svarupa or form.

JanakiRaman: a title of Shri Ram, the husband of Sita or Janaki the daughter of Janaka)

The Sages of Dandakaranya Forest Ask Shri Ram to Get Rid of Demons Harassing Them

O Ramchandra ji Maharaj! There is no friend like you who brings about the well-being of the suffering poor and there is no dejected wretch like me. There is no shiromani (paragon) of the devious of my standing in this world and O Nath! (Lord) there is no destroyer of your stature who annihilates wickedness |

Shri Ram is Compassionate to Destitutes

I am steeped in sins by mind, speech and action and O compassionate one! You are the one who grants the supreme condition (mukti or salvation, release of the soul from the body and from further rebirth) to sinners. I am an orphan and O Prabhu (God) you bring about the welfare of destitutes. This truth never abandons my mind ||2||

The Painful Cycle of Birth & Death

I am grieved and you are the one who gets rid of sorrows. The Vedas and Puranas are forever singing of your glory. I am scared of this material world's (cycle of birth and death) and you are the destroyer of all fears. (Even though you and I share so many bonds)what is the reason, of your not showering your mercy on me? ||3||

Goswami Tulsidas Seeks the Shelter of Shri Ram

O Shri Ram ji! You are the repository of delight and the annihilator of fatigue. Whereas I am extremely pained by the threefold suffering of mankind (physical, psychological and spiritual.) Pondering over these facts in your mind and considering your supreme divinity, you must take Tulsidas under your shelter||4||
